About OPSICLE
We build software for businesses that run in shifts — hospitality, retail, care, logistics. Places where the rota is the plan for the day, where somebody is always covering somebody else, and where the software most companies end up with is a spreadsheet, a group chat and a book by the door.
What we are building
OPSICLE is one system with three ways into it, because the people who need it are not all sitting at a desk:
- A web app for whoever builds the rota, approves the hours and does the hiring.
- A terminal — an ordinary Android or iOS tablet on the wall — that staff clock in and out on.
- A mobile app for everyone else: their shifts, their hours, their holiday, their documents.
The point is not that there are three of them. It is that there is one set of records underneath. The rota built on a laptop is the rota the tablet clocks people onto and the one that lands on a phone, and none of it is exported, re-keyed or reconciled at the end of the week.
Workforce Management and the Applicant Tracking System are live. Inventory & Ordering, Compliance Management and Team Engagement are being built on the same foundation — the same employees, the same locations, the same permissions.
How we build it
A few things we decided early and have not traded away:
Where it runs
The application and its database run in Frankfurt, and files are stored in the EU. The database is backed up with point-in-time recovery. We are a UK business selling to UK businesses, and we would rather keep the data close to the people it is about.
Talk to us
The most useful thing we can do is show you the product against your own rota rather than a demo account, and tell you honestly if it is not a fit.
